Dear Daughters,
Life is what one makes of it. However, to live the best life possible, you need to look deep in yourself. You need to make sure you are doing everything in your power to make the most of your days.
Self-improvement is as simple as getting up a few minutes early, re-arranging your schedule, or letting yourself laugh. However, sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin on your journey towards self-improvement.
If you’re ready to make a change and start the day happier, below are some ideas to help you get started.
The effect of having an excellent morning routine will reflect throughout your day in a motivating and inspiring way. It all starts with this.
Here’s a list of easy-peasy tips to perk up your mood and relieve any tension every morning.
Take a warm shower:
Water is known for its soothing effects. A shower can soothe any aches and pains, and help you feel refreshed and ready for the day. It does a wonderful job of washing away your grogginess, too. (And you smell better! It’s a win-win for everyone.)
Eat a healthy breakfast:
Many of us scamper out the door with a strong cup of coffee and maybe an uninteresting bread roll, if we remember to eat. Instead, take a few minutes to sit down and relish your breakfast. Pay attention to the tastes, grains, and flavors. If you don’t have time, still take food on the go, you genuinely enjoy eating. Eating something nutritious and tasty nourishes both your body and your mind.
Notice the beauty of nature:
On your way to work, pay attention to the changing leaves and fragrant flowers, the sunshine or rainfall, and the shapes the clouds have formed. Nature is vast and bountiful, and yet we often forget to take notice of nature’s simple gifts of joy and calmness. When you take this time to open your senses to the pleasures of what is just outside your door, you open your mind and body to nature’s soothing power to soothe and heal you.
Take a morning stroll:
Sunlight is worth admiring. So is physical activity. Put them together, and you have a terrific way to start your day. Of course, if walking isn’t your thing, you can stretch the first thing in the morning or participate in any other physical activities you enjoy.
Do things that make you happy:
Yes, this is important, so think of activities that tend to boost your mood, regardless of how insignificant they seem. And strive to embrace them into your morning routine. Maybe that’s playing with your kids for a few minutes, stopping by Starbucks for coffee, reading a passage from the Bible, or a quotation from your favorite book. Maybe it’s drawing, listening to classical music, singing in your car, writing in your journal, having breakfast on your stoop, or dancing as you get ready.
Remember, starting your day off right can only result in the rest of your day getting better! Also, please check out my free downloadable 28 day affirmation guide.
As always,
