Dear Daughters,
The concern with maintaining skin health gains the attention of both men and women. Insufficient knowledge about skin care can be one of the factors responsible for skin aging. Therefore, understanding the essential products for skin treatment is an important option, if combined with daily habits, including healthy eating and using sunscreen, among others that we will highlight in this article.
Why take care of facial skin daily?
The skin undergoes a natural aging process as the years go by, which can be divided into three phases:
⦁ The first phase is marked between 25 and 35 years, with the first expression lines and moderate loss of skin shine
⦁ In the second phase, from 35 to 45 years of age, the first wrinkles and a reduction in skin firmness appear.
⦁ The third phase From 45 years of age onward, begins with the densest marks, and the loss of facial contour occurs
Below are some factors that accelerate this process and cause problems, including wrinkles, expression lines, dark spots, excess sagging, and dark circles.
Possible causes may be related to:
⦁ Sleep with makeup
⦁ Pollution
⦁ Smoking
⦁ Stress
⦁ Bad eating habits
⦁ Dehydration
⦁ Alcoholism
⦁ Sedentary lifestyle
⦁ genetic predisposition
⦁ Excessive sun exposure, without use of protection.
In most cases, the increase that causes these problems is free radicals circulating in the body. This consequently causes health and skin problems. Hence, care at all stages makes a significant difference in the future.
How to prevent skin aging too early?
Now that you know some causes, let’s look at some tips to prevent them.
Use sunscreen:
Most skin aging problems are related to exposure to solar radiation. The greater the exposure, the greater the problems caused to the skin. Therefore, protect yourself daily, especially your face, using sunscreens from Factor 30 onward. If the skin is more sensitive, the protection factor should be higher.
Remember that sun protection is not only about the beach and swimming pools. Daily, we must pay attention to the effects caused by the sun on the skin. So apply sunscreen daily 15 minutes before leaving the house, and renew the application every two hours if exposed to the sun. This practice has positive long-term results, in addition to preventing diseases like skin cancer.
Clean and moisturize the skin:
Keeping the skin clean is essential at any age. Through skin detox, you prevent proliferation and eliminate disease-causing fungi and bacteria in the tissues. Use soaps or facial tonics suitable for your skin. In addition, daily hydration helps with aging delay and the control of oiliness or dryness.
On the face, use a specific soap and clean at least twice a day with cold water, morning and night. Remember that sleeping with makeup can cause skin aging. Therefore, cleaning should be part of the routine before sleep.
Keep a balanced diet:
Opt for foods rich in antioxidant nutrients, minerals, and vitamins. Always eat colorful and diverse meals. Add natural flavorings including mint, ginger, or fruit, and, if necessary, create an alert on your cell phone that encourages consumption. Furthermore, hydration is an essential element for the body and healthy skin. Remember to carry a bottle of water with you for drinking during the day.
Avoid hot baths:
This one is tough for me because I love hot baths, but researchers have found that hot water is harmful to the skin because it removes the fabric’s protective barrier. This can cause dryness and itching, making room for bacterial and fungal growth. Ideally, the water should be close to body temperature. If the baths are a little hotter, it is recommended you don’t sit it longer than the 5 and 10 minutes to help protect the skin.
Make full use of collagen:
Collagen is a protein produced by the body itself. It contributes to the skin’s elasticity and firmness, and provides benefits to hair, nails, and body health. You can find it in foods including eggs, white and red meat, fish, some types of cheese, red and citrus fruits, oats, soy, among others.
So daughters, if you want to delay the signs of aging, you need to insert these tips into your daily life until it becomes routine. It may seem awkward at first, but with time and practice, in addition to the possibility of lusher, firmer, blemish-free, and homogeneous skin, it will pay off in the end.
